DEDHAM POP WARNER

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

The Dedham Pop Warner program fully endorses and promotes good sportsmanship and fair play.  Dedham Pop Warner maintains the goal of providing a healthy and supportive environment for its participants, officials, parents and fans.  In order to promote these goals, Dedham Pop Warner has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy.  Any participant, including any parent, child, coach, board member, volunteer and fan in the Dedham Pop Warner Football program who, at any Pop Warner event, game or practice, verbally or physically threatens, abuses or assaults, attempts to intimidate, is flagrantly rude, or cannot control their language or actions with an official, coach, Pop Warner volunteer, participant or fan, will be asked to leave the event immediately.  The Dedham Pop Warner Board of Directors reserves the right to impose any of the following sanctions toward any parent, legal guardian, or individual who violates this Zero Tolerance Policy in any way:

(1)        Probation for one or more games and practices.

(2)        Suspension for one or more games and practices, during which time the individual will not be allowed to attend the games or practices as a spectator for the duration of the suspension.

(3)        Any individual that commits a second similar offense will be automatically banned from Pop Warner events for the remainder of that season and, in the case of a parent or legal guardian, their child(ren) could also be removed from the Dedham Pop Warner program for the remainder of that season.

(4)        Any individual who physically assaults an official, coach, Pop Warner volunteer, participant or fan, will be banned from the Dedham Pop Warner program and, in the case of a parent or legal guardian, their child removed from the program for one year from the date of the offense. After one year, the parent may apply for re-instatement of his or her child. If the adult commits a second offense of physical assault, he or she will be permanently removed from the Dedham Pop Warner program. (The term physical assault includes, but is not limited to: hitting, slapping, pushing, spitting, kicking, or striking in any way with any part of the body or any physical implement.)
